David Raper

Acting CEO

David has 25 years executive experience operating, developing and building highly regulated financial market infrastructure businesses based on technology and data.

Prior to joining Automic David had executive responsibility for ASX markets, data and technology, where in addition to responsibility for the Australian stock market he led the development of the ASX low latency colocation facility (ALC) and the Australian markets largest dark pool ASX Centre Point.

Beyond traditional securities and derivative markets David also has significant practical experience advising, leading and building initiatives in crypto markets, and the broader use of blockchain for financial services.

Peter Sherar

Chief Financial Officer

Peter is responsible for managing Automic’s Finance function, and has significant experience leading finance teams to enable and support organic and M&A growth in technology and services businesses.

Prior to joining Automic Group, Peter was Chief Financial Officer at Ampion and previously CFO for ASX-listed SMS Management & Technology. Peter spent several years at Deloitte advising private clients and family offices with a wide range of industry interests.

Kelly McFadden

Chief People Officer

Kelly is a commercially astute senior leader with over 20 years’ experience in human resource, sales, and marketing executive management roles within highly complex and regulated markets across the technology, biopharmaceutical, medical devices and financial services industries.

Kelly has extensive HR leadership experience and significant change management skills successfully leading M&A integration, organisation design and cultural transformation initiatives. Kelly’s previous work resulted in the organisation being externally recognised as a Great Place to Work. Kelly has also led gender diversity programs which received an Employer of Choice for Women citation.

Marcelo Dantas

Chief Information Officer

Marcelo is a computer scientist with over 18 years of commercial experience in the IT industry, delivering successful projects for a wide range of companies and industries such as financial services, health, telecommunications and airlines, designing solutions from mobile apps to complex high-load mission-critical web applications.

At Automic Group, Marcelo has led the architecture, design, product development, program management and IT operations of Automic Group’s innovative cloud-based platforms, with a strong emphasis on maintaining the confidentiality, integrity and availability of Automic Group’s client data and systems.

Michelle Cross

Head of Fund Registry

Michelle brings over 30 years of operational and project management experience to Automic’s fast-growing Fund Registry team from financial services across Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong. Michelle has provided outsourced registry and administration services to many of Australia’s leading fund managers. Michelle was most recently at AMP Capital as Head of Service Provider Relationships and at Link Market Services in various senior management roles, including General Manager-Managed Fund Outsourcing, Head of Operations-Employee Share Plan Services, Corporate Actions General Manager and Program Manager.

Michelle has worked on many of the most significant and complex transactions in Australia and the APAC region while developing and leading highly effective operational and project teams. She brings extensive experience across ASX top 100 companies and is an integral component of the projected growth of Automic’s fund registry business.

Sue Julian

Head of Business Operations

Sue has over 25 years of experience in Australia’s financial markets, specialising in settlement, post-settlement administration and corporate actions. Sue has worked on some of the most significant and complex transactions in the Australian market for companies including Commonwealth Bank, Westpac, NAB, Telstra, Woolworths, Virgin Australia Holdings, ASX, APA and IAG.

Most recently, Sue worked in Investor Relations with a Top 20 publicly listed company and understands the complexities of servicing a Top 20 ASX company. Sue’s experience includes being Head of Capital Markets, Business Risk Committee and Director of Shareholder Services. Sue is currently Head of Business Operations with Automic Group.

Richard Thomas

Chief Commercial Officer

Richard leads Automic’s sales and solutions team, alongside responsibility for M&A and strategy. Prior to joining Automic, Richard worked in multiple private equity portfolio companies where he was responsible for growth and M&A. He was previously a Director with UBS Australia’s investment banking division, and a strategy consultant at Booz & Company, where he collectively spent 10 years advising a broad range of ASX200 and corporate clients in Australia, the US, and Singapore.

Chief Marketing Officer

Aimee has 25 years' experience in leadership, sales, and marketing roles. Prior to joining Automic, Aimee was the Chief Revenue Officer for APACs largest private Recruitment firm and CMO and Executive General Manager at Probe CX. Aimee has founded a marketing agency in Australia and a professional services firm in the Philippines, both acquired by private equity backed brands. Aimee was recently awarded CMO of the Year 2022 by the Australian Marketing Institute judged by over 100 industry peers based on business results.

Marika White

Managing Principal, Company Secretarial

Marika has over 20 years’ experience as an executive leader and Company Secretary. Her diverse experience spans the public, private, and not-for-profit sectors across Australian and international markets, underlined by an impactful period at Saudi Aramco, the world’s largest oil company.

Marika has notably served as a company secretary and governance advisor for the Victoria 2026 Commonwealth Games while spearheading initiatives for banking and financial institutions, technology companies, mining entities, fashion, and environmental organisations. Her clients have noted that her strategic and transformative guidance was instrumental in the growth and success of these entities, especially those going through the IPO process and overseas entities listed on the Australian Stock Exchange.

Before establishing her foothold in governance, Marika was actively involved in marketing and public relations. Her notable affiliations include Sydney Airports Corporation, The Sydney Royal Easter Show and the Asian Games. This diverse background has endowed Marika with a unique ability to balance operational needs with strategic insights, creating an environment conducive to sustainable growth and enhanced stakeholder engagement.

Eric Kuret

Managing Principal, Investor & Media Relations

Eric is a seasoned investor relations professional, having worked in equity capital markets for over 15 years. Previously working as a Chartered Accountant, Eric entered investor relations as part of an investor relations team for an ASX20 company, before joining Market Eye in 2008. In that time at Market Eye, Eric advised closed to 100 ASX companies on their investor relations programs, including many longstanding clients.

Eric was most recently the Managing Director & CEO of Market Eye, helping to drive the Company’s substantial growth, which saw Market Eye growing to become the largest provider of investor relations consulting services in Australia, with a team of 30 professionals.

Eric’s expertise is across sectors and across market capitalisations, utilising his deep understanding of Company’s capital markets’ needs to deliver optimal outcomes for his clients. Eric also has an extensive understanding of beneficial ownership reporting for ASX companies.

Jules Grove

Managing Principal, CFO Advisory

Jules is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting). Over his career Jules has developed a broad skill set across strategic, operational and commercial aspects of accounting with strong commercial and technical experience.

Jules is Big 4 trained, holding a senior position in external audit before moving to commercial roles including executive finance and CFO roles. Jules has a particular interest in supporting growth companies by providing insight through meaningful and robust accounting and finance processes.

Robbie Hulston

Chief Risk Officer

Having joined Automic in 2022, Robbie brings over 20 years of experience in administration, legal, governance, risk and compliance spanning a diverse range of financial services, including administration of pensions, superannuation, wealth management, group life insurance, trustee and custodial services, regulatory licensing, equity capital markets and unit registry, across Australia, Europe and Asia.

Admitted as a Lawyer to the Supreme Court of NSW with current legal practicing certificate, Robbie holds a Master of Laws from the University of Sydney, as well as a Bachelor Laws, Graduate Diploma in Legal practice, Certificate in Governance (risk management), Diploma of Financial Services and an Associate Diploma in Superannuation Management.  His previous leadership roles include National Manager of Compliance, Chief of Staff to the Managing Director of an ASX 100 company, Head of Group Reporting and Head of Strategic Development and Governance, Risk & Compliance.

Ben Kay

Founding Director

Ben is a high performing and strategic thinking professional who has more than 20 years’ management and sales experience, predominantly in the financial sector. Ben has significant experience in the development, operation and expansion of multiple businesses, dealing extensively with the institutional, government and commercial sectors in a Senior Management & Business Development capacity.

Ben has previously held senior roles with Westpac, Lehman Brothers and BOC Limited, where he applied his strong focus on building successful long-term relationships.

Steve Morgan

Principal, Automic ESG

Steve Morgan is an experienced strategic ESG consultant and a proven ESG professional. Prior to Automic, Steve was the Founder and Managing Director of ESG Capital, a successful corporate ESG and climate advisory firm acquired by Automic Group in 2023.

As Principal of Automic ESG, Steve applies his deep knowledge of the ESG ecosystem, focusing on the agendas of investors and regulators. With a pragmatic and commercially oriented approach, Steve views ESG as leading a fundamental shift in global capital markets. He is passionate about supporting companies and funds to successfully navigate ESG to attract and enhance their economic, environmental, and social capital.

Steve is a GRI Certified Sustainability Professional, holds a Bachelor of Business, and is a Registered Consultant under the Australian Government’s Climate Active Program.
